The policy is "Clear Browser History" which can be set to "Do not allow clearing browser history in settings menu". UPDATE: Since posting this How-to the Chromium team has changed some behavior of the clear browser history popup box in the settings menu, so this no longer works.
If you’re having the same problem I’m having, which I’m assuming you are given the date you posted this, it’s a bug with the latest chrome update. You can let it try and delete for 5–10 minutes and then x out of the history window and sometimes that will delete it but not for certain.
Click the X in the top corner of the Chrome window. Open the task tray in the bottom right corner of the screen by clicking the up arrow, and check the tray for a Google Chrome icon. If it isn't there, you can move on to the fixes. Right-click on the Chrome logo and click Let Google Chrome Run in the background. This should remove the icon and
